Welcome to Scan4Pets. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services. By registering with Scan4Pets and using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Scan4Pets
Scan4Pets is an online pet recovery service. By registering, pet owners receive a unique QR code that can be scanned to display contact information in case their pet is lost and found. This enables finders to quickly reach the pet's owner.
2. Registration and Payment
The cost of registering your pet with Scan4Pets is £30.00 per year.
The registration fee covers hosting your pet's contact profile in our secure database and linking it to your pet's unique QR code.
Payment must be made in full at the time of registration.
We use secure third-party payment processors (PayPal) to handle all transactions. We do not store your payment details.
We do not do auto renewals and will contact you approximately 1 month before your listing expires to confirm that wish to register for a further 12 months.
3. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate, up-to-date contact information.
You must ensure your contact details are kept current. Outdated information may prevent successful reunification with your pet.
You agree not to use Scan4Pets for any unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
4. Lost and Found Functionality
When your pet’s QR code is scanned, it will display the contact information you have provided.
We are not responsible for any failed communication attempts by the finder.
We do not guarantee the recovery of lost pets but aim to assist in reuniting owners with their animals through our platform.
5. Data Protection and Privacy
We collect and store only the personal data necessary to operate our service.
Your contact details will be accessible to anyone who scans your pet’s QR code. You control the level of information displayed.
We are committed to complying with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

6. Cancellations and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time, but no refunds will be issued for any remaining period of your registration.

7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain uninterrupted service but do not guarantee that access to our website or services will be available at all times.
Scan4Pets may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, upgrades, or unforeseen issues without notice.
8. Limitation of Liability
Scan4Pets is not liable for any loss, damage, or failure resulting from your use of our service, including failure to reunite with a lost pet.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount paid by you for the annual registration.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of Scan4Pets and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
10. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or on our website.
Continued use of the service after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Refund Policy
At Scan4Pets, we are committed to providing a helpful and reliable service to help reunite lost pets with their owners. As part of that commitment, we believe in being transparent about our refund policy.
1. Annual registration Fee
The £30.00 annual registration fee covers 12 months of access to our pet recovery service, including hosting of your pet’s profile and activation of your pet's QR code.
This fee is non-refundable once payment has been processed and your account has been activated.
2. No Partial Refunds
We do not offer partial refunds for unused time or early cancellation.
If you choose to cancel your registration before the end of your annual term, your service will remain active until the term expires.
3. Auto-Renewal Cancellations
If you do not wish to renew for another year, you must cancel your subscription before the renewal date to avoid being charged.
No refund will be issued for cancellations made after the renewal payment has been processed.
4. Duplicate Payments
If you believe you’ve been charged more than once in error, please contact us within 14 days of the charge. Verified duplicate payments will be refunded promptly.
5. Service Issues
If you experience technical problems with our service, please contact us at contact@scan4pets.com so we can resolve the issue.
Refunds will not be issued due to temporary service interruptions or system maintenance.
6. Exceptional Circumstances
In rare cases involving billing errors or other exceptional situations, refunds may be issued at our discretion. Please email us to explain your situation.
